TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PERSONAL SERVICES CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF GAHANNA AND CHARLES W. HENDERSON FOR GAHANNA ANIMAL CONTROL; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Administration that it is desirable to handle animal control in the City with a new contractor; and
WHEREAS, the contract with the present provider has been cancelled by the Captain of the Gahanna Police Department; and
WHEREAS, in order to provide continuity for animal control for the citizens, it is prudent to expedite this contract at the earliest possible date for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into "Personal Services Contract between the City of Gahanna, Ohio, and CHARLES W. HENDERSON, 84 Goings S.W., Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068, said contract attached to this ordinance as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding is available in the 1998 Appropriations to Account No. 101.213.5441, A & I Control Services, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
