TO AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO AWARD AND THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH CONIE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE LARRY LANE SANITARY SEWER EXTENSION PROJECT; IMPROVEMENT NO. SA 1013; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, there are two properties on East Johnstown Road to the north and east of Larry Lane which are not served by sanitary sewer; and
WHEREAS, bids were opened on July 18, 2014, for the Larry Lane Sanitary Sewer Extension Project, Improvement No. SA 1013 project; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has recommended we proceed with the lowest most responsive and responsible bidder; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this legislation so that the sanitary sewer can be extended as soon as possible, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to award and the Mayor is authorized to enter into a Contract with Conie Construction Company, 1340 Windsor Ave., Columbus Ohio 43211 for construction of the Larry Lane Sanitary Sewer Extension Project, Improvement No. SA 1013; bid tabs attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FIFTY THREE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED ONE DOLLARS ($53,601) was set aside in prior year funds in Account No. 662.361.5476, Sewer Capital Maintenance, to cover the herein cost.
Section 3. That funding in the amount of TWENTY SEVEN THOUSAND THREE DOLLARS ($27,003) was set aside in the 2014 Appropriations in Account No. 662.361.5476, Sewer Capital Maintenance, to further cover the herein costs.
