TO HONOR AND COMMEND KAREN J. ANGELOU FOR DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF GAHANNA

WHEREAS, KAREN J. ANGELOU, was elected as Council member from Ward 2 in November of 1981, and was reelected an additional 6 times; and
WHEREAS, KAREN J. ANGELOU, was also elected as Council member At Large in 1995 and 1999 to serve 4 year terms, and serving the citizens of Gahanna for an unprecedented total of 22 years as Council member; and
WHEREAS, KAREN J. ANGELOU, served as President of Council in 1984, 1987, 1993, 1998 and 2003; and
WHEREAS, KAREN J. ANGELOU, always kept communication lines open to the public and worked for people with special needs; and
WHEREAS, KAREN J. ANGELOU, was champion for the D.A.R.E. and Safety Town programs, both programs to help educate and prepare our children; and
WHEREAS, KAREN J. ANGELOU, was instrumental in the preparation of the City for a new City Hall; and
WHEREAS, KAREN J. ANGELOU, has been a good friend and colleague to those who have had the privilege to work with her and she will be greatly missed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council and Administration do hereby honor and commend KAREN J. ANGELOU for her 22 years of service to the citizens of Gahanna, first as Ward 2 Council representative and then At Large, and for giving of herself to make Gahanna a better place to live.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
