TO AMEND SECTION 921.04, SYSTEM CAPACITY CHARGE, AND SECTION 921.11, SEWER RENTAL RATES, OF CHAPTER 921, SEWER CONNECTIONS AND RENTAL RATES, OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA; TO REINSTATE THE SEWER CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FEE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the City has been notified that Columbus has increased the sanitary sewer system capacity rates; and

 

WHEREAS, after research and review it has been concluded that the Sewer Capital Improvement Fee needs to be reinstated; and

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide for these increases to builders of new homes in Gahanna at the earliest possible date in order that the water and sewer system remains economically sound, and for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That Section 921.04, Sewerage System Capacity Charge, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna is hereby amended in accordance with EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.

 

Section 2.  That Section 921.11, Sewer Rental Rates, of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna is hereby amended in accordance with EXHIBIT B, attached hereto and made a part herein.

 

Section 3.  That existing Section 921.04 and 921.11, or any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, are repealed.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation, and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
