TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., FOR INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE MORRISON ROAD, PHASE I, WIDENING, IMPROVEMENT NO. 769; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, letter proposal has been received for the inspection services for the Morrison Road, Phase I, Widening, Imp. No. 769; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended that we proceed to award said inspection contract; and

 

WHEREAS, due to the shortness of the building season left this year it is imperative to begin work on this improvement at the earliest possible date, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for inspection services for the Morrison Road, Phase I, Widening, Improvement No. 769, in accordance with City specifications. 

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of NINETY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($95,000) was set aside in the 2002 Appropriations, to Account No. 325.122.5548, Capital Improvements, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
