TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENT WITH W. E. STILSON CONSULTING GROUP FOR FINAL DESIGN ENGINEERING FOR THE WEST GAHANNA SEWER PHASE II; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, there are still unsewered areas located in West Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, the City has been receiving requests for sewer services in the area since many of the existing septic and aeration systems are aging and nearing failure; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service has received proposal from Stilson Consulting and has recommended that we proceed with them for the final design work; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with the final design work so that sewers can be installed, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Agreement with W.E. Stilson Consulting Group, 355 E. Campus View Blvd., Suite 250, Columbus, Ohio 43235, for final design engineering for Phase II of the West Gahanna Sewer, to include Ballard Drive and Cherry Road; proposal attached as EXHIBIT A and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount EIGHTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($18,700) was set aside in the 2008 Appropriations to Account No. 662.361.5596, Sewer System Capital Projects/Improvements to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That second reading is hereby waived.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
