TITLE
A RESOLUTION TO AMEND RES-0013-2025, THE 2026 SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE PROGRAM AREA RESOLUTION OF NECESSITY, TO REVISE THE 2026 SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE PROGRAM AREA FOR THE CITY OF GAHANNA
BODY

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna is committed to maintaining the public sidewalk network in a safe and functional condition to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public; and

WHEREAS, City Council previously approved RES-0013-2025, determining the necessity to repair and/or replace sidewalks within the 2026 Sidewalk Maintenance Program Area; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering has since performed additional inspections and collaborated with other City departments to refine the 2026 Program Area to more accurately reflect current conditions and maintenance needs; and

WHEREAS, based on this evaluation, the Department of Engineering recommends revising the 2026 Sidewalk Maintenance Program Area by removing the following streets:
Caroway Blvd (Harrow Blvd to Helmbright Dr)
Crystal Cay Ct (Woodside Meadow Pl to end of court)
Moorfield Dr (Amfield Ct to Dunchurch Rd)
Pond Hollow Ln (Harrison Pond Dr S to Harrison Pond Dr N)
Woodside Meadow Pl (N Stygler Rd to end of court); and

WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering further recommends adding the following street:
Hines Rd (McCutcheon Rd to Gahanna Highlands Dr); and

WHEREAS, the revised 2026 Sidewalk Maintenance Program Area includes 30 parcels, as shown on the attached map and property listing; and

WHEREAS, upon approval of the revised 2026 Program Area, inspections will be conducted to identify sidewalk defects and ensure that sidewalks are maintained in a good and orderly state of repair; and

WHEREAS, property owners within the program area whose sidewalks are in need of repair or replacement will be notified in writing of the deficiencies found, the estimated cost to be assessed as part of the Sidewalk Maintenance Program, and information on how to opt out of the Program.
