TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH ROZZI'S FAMOUS FIREWORKS, INC., FOR FIREWORKS FOR THE CITY OF GAHANNA 2006 FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS DISPLAY; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, now is the appropriate time to secure fireworks for our 2006 Fourth of July celebration; and
WHEREAS, proposal has been received from Rozzi's Famous Fireworks, Inc., and the Director of Parks & Recreation has recommended this company; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to proceed all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with ROZZI'S FAMOUS FIREWORKS, INC., P.O. Box 5, Loveland, Ohio 45140, for the fireworks for the 2006 Fourth of July celebration, in accordance with City specifications; contract attached as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($12,000) was seta aside in the 2006 Appropriations to Account No. 101.432.5415, Fourth of July, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
