TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH EMH&T FOR WATER SAMPLING FOR DISINFECTION BYPRODUCTS; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, it has been requested of the City Engineer that a proposal be sought for water sampling for disinfection byproducts; and
WHEREAS, letter proposal for services, dated February 6, 2003, has been received and has been recommended by the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to move forward with this project in a timely fashion all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with EMH&T, 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for water sampling for disinfection byproducts, said services to be in accordance with proposal letter, dated February 6, 2003, attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and all in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($7,000.00) has been set aside to Account No. 651.350.5470, EPA, Water Testing, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That for reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
