TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO PURCHASE AGREEMENT WITH JETER SYSTEMS CORPORATION FOR PURCHASE OF FILE CABINETS OFF THE STATE BID LIST FOR THE COURT OFFICE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the expansion of the Clerk of Court office was recently approved; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to purchase file cabinets to fill this space and they are available on the State bid list, State contract No. 778143C; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this purchase to keep up with the continued growing case load in the Court department, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Purchase Agreement with Jeter Systems Corporation, 8256 Markhaven Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43236, for purchase of file cabinets for the Clerk of Court office, in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,500) was set aside in the 2002 Appropriations to Account No. 101.151.5511, Capital Projects, Mayors Court, to cover the herein cost.
Section 3. That funding in the amount of FIFTY FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($5,500) has been transferred to Account No. 101.151.5511, Capital Projects, Mayors Court, to further cover the herein costs.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
