A RESOLUTION COMMENDING SOPHIA MCGUIRE, DEPUTY CLERK OF COUNCIL, ON EARNING THE CERTIFIED MUNICIPAL CLERK (CMC) DESIGNATION AWARDED BY THE INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MUNICIPAL CLERKS
BODY
WHEREAS, Sophia McGuire, Deputy Clerk of Council for the City of Gahanna, has earned the prestigious Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks (IIMC), Inc.; and
WHEREAS, since 1970, the International Institute of Municipal Clerks has promoted excellence in local government through its Certified Municipal Clerk program, which recognizes municipal clerks who have successfully completed a rigorous program of professional education, practical experience, and ethical commitment; and
WHEREAS, the Certified Municipal Clerk designation is awarded only to municipal clerks who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to professional development by completing extensive educational coursework, acquiring significant municipal experience, and affirming the IIMC Code of Ethics; and
WHEREAS, the knowledge and skills acquired through the Certified Municipal Clerk program strengthen the Council Office and enhance the quality, integrity, and efficiency of public service provided to the elected and appointed officials, city staff, and the residents of the City of Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, Sophia McGuire's achievement of the Certified Municipal Clerk designation exemplifies her commitment to excellence, lifelong learning, and the highest standards of professionalism in municipal government, bringing honor to both herself and the City of Gahanna.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Council of the City of Gahanna hereby recognizes, commends, and extends its sincere congratulations to Sophia McGuire, CMC, on earning the Certified Municipal Clerk designation and expresses its gratitude for her continued dedication, professionalism, and outstanding service to the City of Gahanna.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
