TITLE
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDED AGREEMENT WITH AMERICAN STRUCTUREPOINT, INC. FOR DESIGN AND ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE BIG WALNUT TRAIL SECTION 8
BODY
WHEREAS, Section 8 of the Big Walnut Trail is the final phase of the regional Big Walnut Trail through the City of Gahanna; and
WHEREAS, existing trail travels from Morse Road south for approximately 4.5 miles to Rocky Fork Drive; and
WHEREAS, the multi-use trail Section 8 will begin at Rocky Fork and travel within the City of Gahanna’s property south along the creek, then east along the I-270 entrance ramp to Hamilton Road, proceeding south across the west side of the Hamilton Road Bridge structure (FRA-317-1720); and
WHEREAS, the Administration proposes amending an existing agreement with American Structurepoint, Inc. for consulting services to revise traffic analysis for the Hamilton Road interchange in order to develop crossing alternatives for Hamilton Road and create a right-of-way exhibit and legal description for the multi-use trail on the northern side of Hamilton Road; and
WHEREAS, the request for Council action on the amended agreement with American Structurepoint, Inc. for an additional $211,200 for design and engineering services for the Big Walnut Trail Section 8 is required as it will exceed the total procurement threshold set by code when combined with the original agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council authorizes the Mayor to enter into an amended agreement with American Structurepoint, Inc. whose primary offices are located at 2550 Corporate Exchange Drive, Suite 300, Columbus, OH 43231 for the purposes of additional design and engineering services for the Big Walnut Trail Section 8 in accordance with the terms more particularly described in EXHIBIT A, attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature of approval by the Mayor.
