TO HONOR AND COMMEND THOMAS R. KNEELAND FOR 10 YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF GAHANNA AS WARD 1 COUNCIL MEMBER

WHEREAS, THOMAS R. KNEELAND, was born and raised in Gahanna,  lived in Ward 1 most of his life, and wished to serve the people of Ward 1 as their Council representative; and

 

WHEREAS, THOMAS R. KNEELAND, ran for the position of Ward 1 Council Member in November of 1991, was elected to that position, and became the Ward 1 Council Member on January 2, 1992; and

 

WHEREAS, THOMAS R. KNEELAND, was also re-elected as Ward 1 Council Member in 1993, 1995, 1997, and 1999, and has earned the trust and respect of those people he has so faithfully served for ten years; and

 

WHEREAS, THOMAS R. KNEELAND, has served on all Council Committees, chairing the Service Committee, Communications & Technology Committee, and Committee of the Whole, and has served as Vice President of Council, and President of Council in 1994 and 1997, and as President in 1994, he had the honor to call to order the first Council meeting in the new Council Chambers; and

 

WHEREAS, THOMAS R. KNEELAND, with his expertise in the field of technology, was instrumental in the creation of the Council Communications & Technology Committee; and

 

WHEREAS, THOMAS R. KNEELAND, has also served as a member of the Community Improvement Corporation, the Tax Incentive Review Council, and a member of Civic Sam; and

 

WHEREAS, THOMAS R. KNEELAND, is a man of great integrity  who is dedicated to his family first, and then the City that he loves and will continue to support; and

 

WHEREAS, THOMAS R. KNEELAND, was also instrumental in the creation and realization of a Veteran's Memorial, which was initially proposed by his father to honor all veteran's in the Gahanna, Blacklick, New Albany areas; and  

 

WHEREAS, THOMAS R. KNEELAND, will be greatly missed by all who have had the pleasure to work with him;

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That this Council and the Administration do hereby honor and commend THOMAS R. KNEELAND, for his years of service as Ward 1 Council Member, and wish him well in all of his future endeavors, knowing that he will continue to support the City of Gahanna, in any way he can.

 

Section 2.  That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council.
