TO AMEND ORD-0287-2000; TO ESTABLISH THE RATES OF PAY AND BENEFITS FOR UNCLASSIFIED PERSONNEL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, JANUARY 1, 2001 - DECEMBER 31, 2001; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE FUNDS THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the position of Deputy Director of Public Service has been reestablished and a person will be hired to fill the vacancy; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to amend ORD-0287-2000, a pay and benefit package for unclassified personnel to include this position at the earliest possible date for employee morale and continued service to the community, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That where not in conflict with the Charter, Ordinances, or lawfully promulgated rules and regulations of the City of Gahanna, the Master Salary Ordinance for full-time unclassified personnel of the City of Gahanna, is hereby amended as noted in EXHIBIT A attached hereto.
Section 2. That FIFTY EIGHT THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED THIRTY SEVEN DOLLARS ($58,337) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the general fund to the following accounts:

Section 3. That ORD-0001-2001, passed January 2, 2001, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and approval by the Mayor.
