TO HONOR AND COMMEND PEG CUNNINGHAM

WHEREAS, PEG CUNNINGHAM, was born and raised in the Village of Gahanna, and has seen firsthand the growth and development of Gahanna from the time it was a village to the City it has become today; and
WHEREAS, PEG CUNNINGHAM, was hired as Clerk of Council January 19, 1976; and
WHEREAS, PEG CUNNINGHAM, has always made further education a priority, receiving her professional certification as CMC, Certified Municipal Clerk, being one of the first to achieve this in the State of Ohio, and also receiving her AAE, certification in the Advanced Academy of municipal clerks; and
WHEREAS, PEG CUNNINGHAM, also made education a priority for her deputies, greatly encouraging them to also pursue their Certified Municipal Clerk and advanced certification; and
WHEREAS, PEG CUNNINGHAM, was instrumental in the creation of the Gahanna Records Commission, and has served on the Commission since its formation in 1989; and
WHEREAS, PEG CUNNINGHAM, during her tenure as Clerk of Council, worked countless hours on the City Bicentennial Celebration in 1976, working to arrange many historic exhibits for the celebration; and
WHEREAS, PEG CUNNINGHAM, has served the City as a very forward thinking progressive employee, and as one of the first to tackle the world of technology and computers; and
WHEREAS, PEG CUNNINGHAM, has been invaluable to countless Council members, Planning Commission members, Board of Zoning and Building Appeal members and City Attorneys, working with them to help achieve professionalism and understanding of their positions with the City; and
WHEREAS, PEG CUNNINGHAM, will be greatly missed by all those who have had the pleasure to work with her;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council and Administration do hereby honor and commend PEG CUNNINGHAM for her years of service to the City of Gahanna as Clerk of Council, and wish her well in all of her future endeavors.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council.
