TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH GGC ENGINEERING, FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES FOR BALLARD DRIVE LIGHTING; IMPROVEMENT #540, TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $3,300 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, it has been requested of the City Engineer that plans be sought for the design of an assessment project for Ballard Drive street lighting; and
WHEREAS, letter proposal for design engineering services, dated October 24, 2000, has been received and has been recommended by the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to move forward with this project in a timely fashion as the residents have requested this assessment project; all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with GCC Engineering, 104 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio, 43230, for design engineering services for Ballard Drive Street Lighting, said services to be in accordance with proposal letter, dated October 24, 2000, attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and all in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($3,300) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the General Fund to Account No. 101.991.5939, Transfer to Cherry Ballard, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That funding in the amount of THREE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($3,300) is hereby supplementally appropriated from Account No. 101.991.5939, Transfer to Cherry Ballard, to Account Number 437.211.5511, Ballard Cherry Street Lights, to cover the herein costs.
Section 4. That Ordinance No. 200001, passed January 3, 2000, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 5. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
