TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH STILSON CONSULTING GROUP FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE EAST JOHNSTOWN ROAD (US62) WIDENING PROJECT FROM BEECHER TO RIVA RIDGE, IMPROVEMENT NO. 806; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $39,185 THEREFORE; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, letter proposal for engineering services, dated June 28, 2002, has been received from STILSON CONSULTING GROUP, and has been recommended by the City Engineer for the East Johnstown Road from Beecher to Riva Ridge Widening Project, Improvement No. 806; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to move forward with this project in a timely fashion due to the increased traffic demand and planned developments taking place in the area, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with STILSON CONSULTING GROUP, 7610 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43235, for engineering services on the East Johnstown Road from Beecher to Riva Ridge Widening Project, Imp. #806, said services to be in accordance with proposal letter, dated June 28, 2002, attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and all in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of SEVENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($75,000) was set aside in the 2002 Appropriations to Account no. 101.145.5533, Engineering, Capital Projects, Streets.
Section 3. That THIRTY NINE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY FIVE DOLLARS ($39,185) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated amount in the General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5533, Engineering, Capital Projects, Streets.
Section 4. That Ordinance No. ORD-0001-2002, passed January 2, 2002, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 5. That for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
