TO AMEND SECTION 131.07 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, RELATIVE TO THE MAYOR'S SALARY, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 3, 2004.

WHEREAS, in accordance with law, it is necessary to set forth compensation for the full-time position of Mayor of the City of Gahanna in a timely manner prior to the General Election; and
WHEREAS, is it the desire of this Council to provide compensation commensurate with the responsibilities of the position;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council hereby determines that EFFECTIVE JANUARY 2, 2004, Section 131.07 of the Codified Ordinances of Gahanna, Ohio, is amended as follows:
131.07 FULL-TIME MAYOR
Commensurate compensation for the position of Mayor of the City of Gahanna is hereby authorized and directed in the amounts and on the effective dates declared below:
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 3, 2000 2004:
SEVENTY-ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($71,500) EIGHTY TWO THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FORTY ONE DOLLARS ($82,841) per year, payable at regular pay periods.
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 2, 2001 2005:
SEVENTY-FOUR THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS ($74,360) EIGHTY FIVE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED TWENTY SIX DOLLARS ($85,326) per year, payable at regular pay periods.
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 2, 2002 2006:
SEVENTY-SEVEN THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED THIRTY-FOUR DOLLARS ($77,334) EIGHTY SEVEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED EIGHTY SIX DOLLARS ($87,886) per year, payable at regular pay periods.
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 2, 2003 2007:
EIGHTY THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY-EIGHT DOLLARS ($80,428) NINETY THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY TWO DOLLARS ($90,522) per year, payable at regular pay periods.
Hospitalization, surgical, major medical, life, dental, and vision insurance as set forth in Article V of the Unclassified Personnel Salary Ordinance shall apply to this full-time elected position.
Section 2. That Ordinance No. 990039, passed February 16, 1999 or any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed on January 3, 2004.
Section 3. That Section 131.07, Full Time Mayor, of Chapter 131, Mayor of the Codified Ordinances is hereby repealed on January 3, 2004.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
