TITLE
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A QUOTE FROM ALTEC INDUSTRIES, INC. FOR THE PURCHASE OF A TEUPEN TRACKED AERIAL LIFT AND RELATED VEHICLE AND CHASSIS
BODY
WHEREAS, the purchase of a forestry lift was approved as a special equipment purchase in the City of Gahanna’s 2026 Capital Improvement Plan under Project No. EQ-YR-02; and
WHEREAS, the City’s Forestry team currently utilizes a bucket truck that is not forestry-rated, limiting the equipment’s capabilities and use for forestry operations; and
WHEREAS, acquisition of forestry-rated equipment will allow City staff to safely reach greater heights, maneuver horizontally, and improve the overall safety and efficiency of forestry operations; and
WHEREAS, a tracked aerial lift is capable of operating in confined spaces and on rough terrain, and its self-leveling capabilities provide a safer operating platform and allow the equipment to support a variety of functions across City departments; and
WHEREAS, Altec Industries, Inc. has provided a quote for the purchase of a Teupen Tracked Aerial Lift in the amount of One Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Nine Hundred Ten Dollars ($175,910.00), together with the related vehicle and chassis, for a total purchase price of Two Hundred Eighty-One Thousand Eight Hundred Forty-Five Dollars ($281,845.00); and
WHEREAS, the purchase is available through a Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contract; and
WHEREAS, the Administration has determined that acceptance of the quote from Altec Industries, Inc. and purchase of the Teupen Tracked Aerial Lift and related vehicle and chassis is necessary and in the best interest of the City; and
WHEREAS, sufficient funds have already been appropriated and are available within Account No. 32506550.5510 for this purpose, and no supplemental appropriation is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to accept the quote from Altec Industries, Inc., located at 210 Inverness Center Drive, Birmingham, Alabama 35242, for the purchase of a Teupen Tracked Aerial Lift and related vehicle and chassis through the Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contract, in a total amount not to exceed Two Hundred Eighty-One Thousand Eight Hundred Forty-Five Dollars ($281,845.00), substantially in the form attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
Section 2. That the Mayor and other appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to execute any documents necessary to effectuate the purchase authorized by this Resolution.
Section 3. That funding for this purchase has been previously appropriated and shall be paid from Account No. 32506550.5510.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
