WHEREAS, with the retirement of the Typist Clerk III in the Building Department, the Director of Human Resources has been working with the Director of Development to evaluate the position and determine how best to utilize the resources of the job, and a new job description has been created combining the duties of the Clerk Typist III position and the Secretary to the Director of Planning & Development; and

 

WHEREAS, due to the restructuring occurring in City Hall it has been the desire of the Administration to have one focal point employee upon entering the Mayor/Development side of the second floor, and it is felt that by combining the job of Clerk Typist III and the Secretary to Development this position would work well; and

 

WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this ordinance to put someone in the position of Secretary to Development as soon as possible after the retirement of the Typist Clerk III, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.   That the position of Secretary to the Director of Planning & Development, is hereby re-established with duties as outlined in EXHIBIT A attached hereto.

 

Section 2.   That compensation for this position is established with a class allocation of 25 and that Article II, Pay Ranges, of ORD-0017-2005, passed April 18, 2005, is hereby amended to reflect this change; said Article attached hereto as EXHIBIT B.

 

Section 3. That funding in the amount of EIGHT THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTY FOUR DOLLARS ($8,864) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance in the general fund to the following accounts:

Section 4.  That funding in the amount of THIRTY THREE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS is hereby transferred as listed on EXHIBIT C attached hereto.

 

Section 4.  That ORD-0001-2006, passed January 2, 2006 is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation and transfer of funds.

 

Section 5.  That for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereinabove this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
