TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO EXTENDED CONTRACT WITH GGC ENGINEERS, INC., FOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND INSPECTION SERVICES FOR MILL STREET UTILITIES, IMPROVEMENT NO. 845 AND 846; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE FUNDS THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the Creekside project provides an opportunity to address issues of old sanitary sewer, waterline and street on Mill Street; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended we extend the current contract with GGC Engineers, Inc. established by ORD-0282-2004, for inspection and design of the street; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this ordinance as soon as possible in order to start construction in the summer, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into extended Contract with GGC Engineers, Inc., 132 North High Street, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for project managment and inspection services for Mill Street Utilities, Improvement No. 845 and 846; in accorance with City Specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED THIRTY-THREE DOLLARS ($7,533) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the WSCI Fund to Account No. 652.351.5596, Miscellaneous Water Improvements.
Section 3. That funding in the amount of ELEVEN THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED TWENTY-NINE DOLLARS ($11,329) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the SSCI Fund to Account No. 662.361.5596, Miscellaneous Sewer Improvements.
Section 4. That funding in the amount of TWENTY THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED TWENTY-THREE DOLLARS ($20,923) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.360.5541, Creekside - Mill Street Utilities.
Section 5. That ORD-0001-2006, passed January 2, 2006 is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 6. That, for the resons set forth in the preamble herenabove, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately after passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
