TITLE
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH MIDSTATES RECREATION FOR THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF A NEW PLAYGROUND AT ASHBURNHAM PARK
BODY
WHEREAS, Ashburnham Park is a neighborhood park that primarily serves residents within walking distance of the site; and
WHEREAS, the existing playground at Ashburnham Park has reached the end of its service life and requires replacement as identified in Capital Improvement Project PK-26-101; and
WHEREAS, the City solicited feedback from surrounding residents through a public survey to help identify improvements that would best serve neighborhood families and park users; and
WHEREAS, the City intends to utilize the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Agreement for the purchase and installation of playground equipment; and
WHEREAS, Midstates Recreation, located at 1279 Hazelton-Etna Road SW, Pataskala, Ohio 43062, has submitted a proposal through the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Agreement for the purchase and installation of the Ashburnham Park playground; and
WHEREAS, the total project cost is Two Hundred Thirty-Six Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($236,250), including a five percent contingency for unforeseen expenses; and
WHEREAS, funds for this project have been appropriated in Account No. 325.06.550.5510.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Midstates Recreation, 1279 Hazelton-Etna Road SW, Pataskala, Ohio 43062, through the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Agreement for the purchase and installation of a new playground at Ashburnham Park, in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Thirty-Six Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($236,250), including contingency, in substantial accordance with the agreement attached hereto as EXHIBIT A and incorporated herein by reference.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
