TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH ADVANCED CIVIL DESIGN FOR DESIGN MODIFICATIONS OF LINCOLN CIRCLE ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, access to the Gahanna Post Office has been a concern of residents, Council and the Administration since they moved to their current location on Lincoln Circle, and the City has been working for a solution to make it more easily accessible for our residents; and
WHEREAS, Council members have worked with the owner of the complex the post office is in and modifications to Lincoln Circle were proposed, plans were drawn up, and because of the urgency funding went over the original contract with Advanced Civil Design; and
WHEREAS, a supplemental appropriation is needed to pay Advanced Civil Design for this work; and
WHEREAS, it is imperative to move forward with this ordinance, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with ADVANCED CIVIL DESIGN, INC., 422 Beecher Road, Gahanna, Ohio 43230, for design modifications of Lincoln Circle roadway improvements; proposal attached as "EXHIBIT A", and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of EIGHT THOUSAND FIFTY EIGHT DOLLARS ($8,058) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the General Fund to Account No. 101.145.5596, Engineering, Capital Projects/Improvements to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2008, passed January 2, 2008, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect immediately upon passage by this Council and on date of signature approval by the Mayor.
