TITLE
A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE NECESSITY TO REPAIR AND/OR REPLACE SIDEWALKS IN THE 2025 SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE PROGRAM AREA FOR THE CITY OF GAHANNA
BODY
WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering has conducted a survey of sidewalks and developed a list of properties requiring repair and/or replacement of such areas and estimated costs of improvements for each parcel in the 2025 Program Area; and
WHEREAS, the 2025 Program Area consists of 107 parcels for properties along Deer Run Dr (Clotts Rd to Venetian Way), Juniper Ln N (Moss Oak Ave to end of court), Moorfield Dr (Amfield Ct to Chapelfield Rd), Prince of Wales Dr (Stygler Rd N to Avonwick Pl), Venetian Ct (Venetian Rd to end of court), Woodtown Dr (Aries Dr to Riva Ridge Blvd); and
WHEREAS, upon approval of the 2025 Program Area, an inspection of the sidewalk network will be completed to identify defects for the purpose of maintaining those areas in a good and orderly state of repair to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public; and
WHEREAS, property owners within the 2025 Program Area whose sidewalks need repair or replacement will be mailed a notification indicating the identified sidewalk deficiencies, estimated costs to be assessed as part of the Sidewalk Maintenance Program, and information on how to opt-out; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Engineering requests a Resolution of Necessity for properties located in the 2025 Program Area to advance the Sidewalk Maintenance Program pursuant to Gahanna Code Section 903.4.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That this Council determines it to be necessary to repair and/or replace sidewalks of parcels identified in the 2025 Sidewalk Program Area; said properties and associated estimated costs more particularly described in EXHIBIT A attached hereto and made a part herein.
Section 2. That the Director of Engineering, or designee, is authorized to issue notice to each property owner of parcels identified in EXHIBIT A and to proceed with the Program in accordance with the Codified Ordinances of the City of Gahanna.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect after passage by Council and on date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
