WILLIAMS & ASSOCIATES, INC., FOR ADDITIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR CLARK STREET & OKLAHOMA AVENUE REBUILD TO INCLUDE WATER LINES, FIRE HYDRANTS, AND RESIDENT SERVICES; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $10,565 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, it has been recommended by the City Engineer that additional right of way, and inclusion of water lines and appurtenances in the construction plans should be undertaken in the Clark Street and Oklahoma Avenue rebuild, which was authorized by Ordinance No. 990012; and

 

WHEREAS, letter proposal for engineering services, dated March 10, 2000, has been received and has been recommended by the City Engineer; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desirable and necessary to effect this contract at the earliest possible date in order that reconstruction of these streets may proceed in an orderly manner, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:

 

Section 1.  That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with CLYDE E. WILLIAMS & ASSOCIATES, INC., 130 East Wilson Bridge Road, Suite 025, Worthington, Ohio 43085, for engineering services for the Clark Street and Oklahoma Avenue Rebuild, said services to include right of way, water lines and appurtenances in the construction plans, in accordance with proposal letter, dated March 10, 2000, attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and all in accordance with City specifications.

 

Section 2.  That funding in the amount of TEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED SIXTY-FIVE DOLLARS ($10,565) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the Water Fund to Account No. 651.350.5445, Water, Engineering, to cover the herein costs.

 

Section 3.  That Ordinance No. 200001, passed January 3, 2000, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.

 

Section 4.  That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
