TITLE

A RESOLUTION HONORING AND RECOGNIZING THE GAHANNA LINCOLN HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BOWLING TEAM FOR THEIR HISTORIC SECOND PLACE FINISH AT THE 2026 U.S. HIGH SCHOOL BOWLING NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AND OUTSTANDING ATHLETIC AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS

BODY

WHEREAS, the Gahanna Lincoln High School’s Boys Bowling team competed in the U.S. High School Bowling National Championship held June 20-22, 2026, at Columbus Square Bowling Palace in Columbus, Ohio; and

WHEREAS, the GLHS Boys Bowling team competed outstandingly against a field of 77 other teams representing 25 states from across the country; and

WHEREAS, the GLHS Lions were represented by six bowlers, including sophomore Kris Briscoe, senior Kael Clous, junior Mitchell Genson, senior Will Gray, freshman Andy Oswald, and junior Caleb Petit; and

WHEREAS, individual excellence shone brightly alongside team success with four team members finishing in the top 60, showcasing the depth of talent within Gahanna’s program; and

WHEREAS, the Lions advanced all the way to the national title match, where they were narrowly defeated by fellow Ohio powerhouse, Beavercreek High School, to capture second place; and

WHEREAS, participation in high school athletics instills vital lifelong virtues, including self-discipline, perseverance, leadership, and the ability to work cohesively toward a shared goal, which prepares our youth to become the future leaders of our community; and

 
WHEREAS, the immense dedication of these talented student athletes, their coaches, families and supporters has brought immense pride, unity, and positive recognition to the entire Gahanna community. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:

Section 1. That the Council of the City of Gahanna hereby recognizes and congratulates the GLHS Boys Bowling Team for their historic second place finish at the U.S. High School Bowling National Championship and their outstanding contributions to the Gahanna Lincoln High School bowling program.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect at the earliest period allowed by law.
