TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH EVANS, MECHWART, HAMBLETON & TILTON, INC., FOR ADDITIONAL WORK REQUIRED FOR PREPARATION OF THE DETAIL ENGINEERING PLANS FOR THE EAST INDUSTRIAL SANITARY SEWER, IMPROVEMENT NO. 727; TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $10,000 THEREFOR; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, letter proposal dated January 5, 2001 for the additional work required for preparation of the detailed engineering plans for the East Industrial Sanitary Sewer, Improvement No. 727, has been received and has been recommended by the City Engineer; and
WHEREAS, $225,000 appropriated by ORD-0236-2000 was not spent and has been released back into the S.S.C.I. fund;
WHEREAS, it is desirable and necessary to effect this contract at the earliest possible date in order to complete the engineering plans and move forward with construction of the East Industrial Sanitary Sewer in a timely fashion, all for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety, and welfare;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into Contract with Evans, Mechwart, Hambleton & Tilton, Inc., 170 Mill Street, Gahanna, Ohio, for additional work required for prepartion of the detailed engineering plans for the East Industrial Sanitary Sewer, formerly known as the Southeast Sanitary Subtrunk Sewer, in accordance with proposal attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and all in accordance with City specifications.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($10,000) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the SSCI Fund to ACCOUNT NO. 662.361.5540, East Industrial Sewer, to cover the herein costs.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2001, passed January 2, 2001, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That, for the reasons set forth in the preamble herein above, this ordinance is declared emergency legislation and shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and on the date of signature approval by the Mayor.
