TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH MS CONSULTANTS, INC., FOR DESIGN WORK ON A NEW WATER BOOSTER STATION AT THE CORNER OF TAYLOR ROAD AND HELMBRIGHT DRIVE; AND TO EXTEND WATER MAIN FROM TAYLOR ROAD TO SCIENCE BLVD; IMPROVEMENT NO. ST 1003; AND TO SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $165,195.

WHEREAS, a project for a new booster station at the corner of Taylor Road and Helmbright Drive and the need for a water main extension from Taylor Road to Science Blvd. was on the 5 year Capital Improvement Project priority list; and
WHEREAS, due to the addition of the Niagara Bottling facility on Eastgate Parkway and the potential for major commercial development in Central Park in order that our system can supply sufficient water needs and fire flow to the area, a new booster station and 16" water main extension is needed; and
WHEREAS, the City received proposal from ms Consultants for design work for the new water booster station and for the extension of the 16" water main; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service and City Engineer have recommended we proceed with ms Consultants for the work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into contract with MS CONSULTANTS, INC., 2221 Schrock Road, Columbus, OH 43229-1547, for design work for a new water booster station at the corner of Taylor Road and Helmbright Drive, and the extension of a 16" water main from Taylor Road to Science Blvd.; proposal attached as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That funding in the amount of ONE HUNDRED SIXTY FIVE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED NINETY FIVE DOLLARS ($165,195) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unencumbered, unappropriated balance of the Water System Capital Improvement Fund to Account No. 652.351.5596, Water System Capital Projects/Improvements, to cover the herein cost.
Section 3. That ORD-0001-2013, passed January 2, 2013, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
