WHEREAS, the Director of Human Resources and the Mayor have requested a reclassification of the vacant position of Executive Assistant to the Mayor from a pay grade of 33 to Administrative Assistant Mayor's Office at a grade of 28; and
 
WHEREAS, since 2009 two part time administrative aides have provided administrative support to the Mayor, Assistant City Administrator, Director of Emergency Management and the Public Information Manager; and
 
WHEREAS, there has been high turnover with these administrative aide positions as individuals leave for full time positions and it is critical to have continuity and professional representation in the Mayor's office;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, STATE OF OHIO:
 
Section 1. That ORD-0017-2012 is hereby amended to reclassify and change the title of the position of Executive Assistant to the Mayor at a grade 33 to Administrative Assistant, Mayor's Office at a grade 28, said Article 2, Pay Ranges, of ORD-0017-2012 attached hereto as EXHIBIT A.
 
Section 2.  That the duties for the reclassified position shall be as outlined in EXHIBIT B attached hereto.
 
Section 3.  That funding in the amount of SEVEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED TWENTY DOLLARS ($7,820) is hereby transferred as follows:

Section 4.  That funding in the amount of TWELVE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED THIRTY DOLLARS ($12,130) is hereby supplementally appropriated from the unappropriated, unencumbered balance of the General Fund to the following accounts:

Section 5.  That ORD-0001-2012, passed January 2, 2012, is hereby amended to reflect this supplemental appropriation and transfer of funds.
 
Section 6.  That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after signature approval by the Mayor.
