Emery stated that as of this date we do not know whether the tax bill has been paid; will |
|
contact Golden Touch again to find out; do have some other proposals; open to going |
|
with other companies; other proposals are not as comprehensive; charge per vehicle; |
|
Golden Touch is monthly; will get back to Council with answer. |

SUPPLEMENTALLY APPROPRIATE $17,170; AND TO DECLARE AN |
|
EMERGENCY. |

Sherwood stated that this item was originally prepared without emergency; needs to be |
|
amended by substitution. |

FRANKLIN COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH FOR HEALTH SERVICES IN THE |

CITY OF GAHANNA FOR THE 2004 FISCAL YEAR; AND TO DECLARE AN |

Sherwood stated that this is our standard contract; already had 1st reading.

ISSUES - From Director of Public Service:
Vinyl Tile Replacement - Police Jail Area
|
Emery stated that the vinyl area in the jail is starting to pull up and could be a potential |
|
hazard; was put in for next year's appropriations; have funds that we can pull from this |
|
year to pay for it; needs authorization; if authorized we can pull this from 2004; we are |
|
recommending Variety Floors; requesting waiver of second and emergency so we can |
|
get this done as soon as possible. |

Science Boulevard Fuel Tank Removal
|
Emery stated that we have an abandoned fuel tank that needs to be removed; |
|
recommending UST Environment; already in budget; requesting a waiver and |
|
emergency; Tri-Car looked over the proposal; felt very comfortable with it. |

Water/Sewer Department Safety Equipment
|
Emery stated that we are in need of a new pony airtank system; provides fresh |
|
breathing air when entering man hole or meter pits; funds are available in 2003 |
|
budget; requesting a Motion Resolution to allow us to purchase. Kneeland asked about |
|
sharing the purchasing with Mifflin; quantity price reduction. Emery stated that we will |
|
take that to the Joint Committee. |

Service Complex Upgrades
|
Emery stated that this was budgeted for in 2003; because of nature of the year we were |
|
not able to move forward with it; we would like to hire out the concrete work and |
|
construct the storage bins ourselves; recommending Buckeye Cement; would like to |
|
purchase the materials from 84 lumber; requires 2 pieces of legislation; requesting a |
|
waiver of 2nd and emergency on entering into contract with Buckeye Cement. |

ADDITIONAL DISCUSSION:

Angelou asked about the letter regarding fiber optics in the industrial area. Mayor |
|
stated that we have a meeting scheduled with several parties to discuss this. |
