TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A RECYCLING GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR THE SOLID WASTE AUTHORITY OF CENTRAL OHIO; AND TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna is located within the jurisdiction of the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO); and
WHEREAS, the City is part of a refuse consortium that is facilitated by SWACO; and
WHEREAS, this is a one-time grant opportunity to purchase 64 gallon Toter recycling carts at a greatly reduced price.
WHEREAS, in order to take advantage of this opportunity with SWACO, it is imperative to move forward with the agreement, and all for the preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign the recycling grant agreement with SWACO, 4239 London Groveport Road, Grove City, Ohio 43123..
Section 2. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and after date of signature approval by the Mayor.
