TITLE
TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO SIGN AND ADOPT THE STREETS POLICY.
BODY
WHEREAS, the City of Gahanna seeks to meet the transportation needs of all citizens by providing streets that safely connect neighborhoods and properties, creating a more livable and welcoming environment for citizens and visitors regardless of age and ability; and
WHEREAS, the Streets Policy has been created, because the City of Gahanna recognizes the need to accommodate all modes of transportation within the public right-of-way for pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists, and transit users; and
WHEREAS, adopting a policy for complete streets is consistent with transportation goals of the City to provide a comprehensive transportation network that is safe, convenient, and accessible to the entire community.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GAHANNA, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO:
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign and adopt the Streets Policy, attached hereto as EXHIBIT A, and made a part herein.
Section 2. That any Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict here within are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after passage by this Council and 30 days after date of signature of approval by the Mayor.
